We build, sell and service industrial diesel generators. YorPower is a major independent generator manufacturer and spares supplier, based in Yorkshire and selling throughout the world. The company’s continuing rapid development depends on being able to recruit engineering specialists for roles throughout the business
Which other companies are in the group?
YorPower’s sister companies include PowerPlant Services, which specialises in the on-site servicing of generators and fire pumps throughout the UK; YorPower Kenya, which sells and services generators in East Africa and YorPower Mexicio which sells gensets and associated products to the Central and South American region
Where does YorPower operate?
We are based near Leeds in Yorkshire. YorPower sells in considerable volume to customers in Africa, the Middle East, Central and South America and Asia as well as the UK and we are rapidly increasing our dealer network, customer base and geographic spread. Our customers range from farmers requiring occasional power for post harvest crop drying through to data centres, telecoms installations and industrial complexes where reliable continuous power is essential.
How big is YorPower?
We are a major independent manufacturer, not part of an international conglomerate.
Combined with its other group companies YorPower currently employs around 40 people across engineering, design, sales and administration functions. We need to recruit bright people to provide the skills needed to manage our continuing growth and the contribution from new team members is very quickly apparent
Who should be interested?
Bright sparks in electrical engineering, sales, administration and logistics. Any electrical engineering graduate who wants to be part of a major UK engineering success story. While electrical engineering is the primary skill required our continuing growth means that there are also opportunities to be involved in system design, project management and customer facing roles
Further training is available to meet evolving roles and there are plenty of opportunities for career development in our rapidly expanding company
Where will you be working?
Yorkshire and the rest of the world. While you will be based, at least initially, at the company’s head office and factory in Sherburn in Elmet (between Leeds, York and Selby) there are opportunities to travel within the UK and, potentially, throughout the world.
