A flood warning has been issued for the City of York as a result of high water levels on the River Foss following recent rainfall. Levels to the North of the city are currently 2.5m and are expected to reach around 2.6m, before falling away later on Tuesday. The Foss Barrier has been activated as the River Ouse has risen as a result of the recent heavy rainfall.
YorPower are currently installing the first of four new Cummins generators to power the new pumps at the Foss Barrier following flooding in recent years.
